Assassin's Creed Reveals Unexpected AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre partnership that defies conventional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Revealed
According to the formal statement, "A strange meeting draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of prohibited practices and fearsome transformations resonate through the obscurity." The storyline introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a secret group.
The mission concentrates on "bizarre trials and a fearsome foe" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Metamorphoses
The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer concludes with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the captive, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Extra Features
Players who successfully complete the quest will acquire an exclusive katana in addition to several objects hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Update
This update also adds the game's latest complimentary story content, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature techniques: Naoe reveals a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also features a new environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
