In the final seconds, pure elation erupted for Chelsea and caretaker boss Calum McFarlane as Enzo Fernández bundled in a dramatic equaliser. The goal left Pep Guardiola howling at the heavens and gifted the stand-in Chelsea manager a unforgettable moment. On paper, Guardiola versus McFarlane could be billed as the Premier League's greatest managerial mismatch, making the recollection of Fernández's pivotal intervention one to cherish the 40-year-old throughout his career.

A Stark Contrast in Pedigree

On the City bench was the generation's pre-eminent figure, a man with four decades of silverware for elite clubs Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, overseeing his 1,012th match. In the opposite technical area, was a one-time trainer at non-league sides Croydon and Whyteleafe, who had worked in City's own academy and arrived to make his senior managerial bow after being seconded from his regular role overseeing Chelsea's youth teams.
